I've made infinity scarfs before, but I finally found a really simple way to make one. There are a lot more fun knit materials around now, so this makes it even more fun to make.
1 yard of knit material
I originally went looking for gray striped material and was so happy to find some. But, then when I went to have it cut, to my surprise, the other side was polka-dots!! So, I then had the tough choice of which side to use...
I cut my material 30 inches wide by 32 inches long.
Fold the material in half long ways and sew down the long side. Leave a 6 inch opening about half way down the length.
Next, lay the 'tube' of material out. Put your arm inside the tube at one end, reach and grab the other end and pull it through. Ensure that it is not twisted inside, then line up the edges and sew together (you will essentially have a tube within a tube). This where you have to decide which side to use. I wanted to use the polka dot side, so that is inside the tube with stripes on the outside.
Find the 5 inch opening along the length and pull the scarf right side out. Then just hand stitch the opening shut.
