St. Patrick's Pennants

I made these little pennants for a St. Patrick's day decoration using up some old scrapbook paper I had on hand.  I saw these Valentine's ones on Two Junk Chix blog, I made mine slightly different and a little more simple.  I like them so much, I may keep them up year round or reuse for another holiday.

I started by just drawing some pennants on cardstock and cutting them out.  I made 3 different size pennants.

Next, I traced the pennants onto the scrapbook paper and cut it out.

Using hot glue, I glued a dowel rod to each (of varying length).  I also glued the cardstock pennant shapes to the back, since some of my scrapbook paper was not thick.

I decided to go ahead an make a couple of pom-poms and glue them on dowel rods to add to the arrangement.

Here was the vase before.

And here it is with the pennants...not looking so good.

I cut some floral foam and stuck it inside the milk bottle.  Then arranged the pennants...much bettter!

I thought about decorating them with shamrocks and such, but ultimately I decided to keep them simple.  I can re-use these for Christmas or other holidays by switching out the pom-poms.
