Felt Elephant Skirt

A while back, I made these felt elephants

I liked the design so much, that when I ordered some Wool Felt from The Felt Pod, I knew I was going to make a skirt with this elephant design on it.

Supplies:
knit skirt (already had)
wool felt
embroidery floss
yarn
ribbon

I started by making my elephant design....

Then I pinned everything together and started sewing....

I started with the heart.  I used two strands of floss through the needles, so it ended up 4 strands thick.

Once I had the heart, feet and eye sewn on, I pinned it to my skirt.  I used a lot of pins to ensure it stayed in place.

I put a hoop around it while sewed it onto the skirt.

Here it is all done...or so I thought...forgot the tail!

To make the tail, I braided three pieces of yarn and sewed it on.

I tied a little bow and sewed it over the knot in the yarn.  Super cute!
