Snowflake Ornament

After packing away my Christmas decorations, I decided to keep out my 'stick' tree and decorate it with snowflakes for January.  Most of the ornaments I had or bought on clearance after Christmas at Target.  But, I decided to make one felt one for it.

Supplies:
felt
bakers twine
paper
vanishing pen

I started by drawing a simple snowflake on paper, outlining the edge and cutting out.  Here is my pattern....

Using the pattern, I cut out a piece of white and blue felt.

Using my vanishing ink pen and a ruler, I sketched on the snowflake pattern.

Then I did a simple back stitch to make the snowflake design.

Once done, I used brown baker's twine and did a blanket stitch sewing the back of the ornament on.

When I got most of the way around, I stuffed and sewed it up the rest of the way.  To make the 'hanger', I just stitched a long loop at the end.

And here it is on my tree!!
