Black and white acrylic paint
mini gourd pumpkins
If you are buying gourds, try to pick some that are more flat and not too bumpy. I find chalkboard paint a little thin, so I first painted a layer of black acrylic paint in a rectangle.
Once it dried, I did 3 coats of chalkboard paint. It was a sunny day, so I would set the pumpkins outside for about 10 minutes to dry between layers.
Once the black was dry, I painted some decorative details on with the white paint.
Once the black paint was good and dry (I suggest letting it dry overnight), B wrote their names on each pumpkin.
Then we sat them out in front of their turkey place mats.
We don't have a big sit down Thanksgiving dinner at our house, but if we did, I think this would be such a cute idea for the guests. Then they could take their pumpkin home at the end of the night!
