Burlap Pumpkins

I came up with this idea to make some simple pumpkins using burlap and some baby food jars I still had laying around.

baker's twine
black paint
scrap material (optional)

Start by placing the jar on the burlap and figuring out about how much you will need to cover the sides.  Then cut a square of material.

Next, just round the edges off into a circle.  It does not need to be perfect.

Gather the material around the sides of the jar and use a rubber band to hold it in place.

Tie a piece of baker's twine around the top of the jar and then just wrap the twine around a few times.

Next, I just hand painted a pumpkin face on each jar.  I also tied some scrap material on one of the jars.

After making these at home, I also made them with my Sunday School class using orange burlap.  In each jar, I placed a bag of candy and this poem.
