Mason Jar Monday - Doily Mason Jar

In May, I did a whole series on crafts using Mason jars.  You can see the posts here, here, here and here.  I decided I'd try painting with doilies on Mason jars to see how it turned out!

Supplies:
Mason jars
doilies
glass paint
sponge brushes
masking tape

I started by cutting a couple doilies in half.

Using masking tape, I taped them to the jar.

Then I just started painting.  It's important to not put too much paint at once, just a little at a time.  I did about 3 layers of paint on these.

Then I carefully pealed off the doilies, I didn't even wait until the paint was completely dry.

I then added another doily to the top part of the jar and painted it as well.

The doilies make very interesting patterns and designs.  My daughters think the yellow ones painted on the bottom look like princess crowns...of course!!

I think these would look really nice as a center piece with wild flowers in them.
