'Mason Jar May' - Teacher Appreciation Gift

Here's the first in my series 'Mason Jar May'.  I can't take credit for this idea totally, I saw the M&Ms Jar idea at Domestically Speaking blog.  And I have seen the crayon's glued to jars all over Pinterest.  I just combined the two ideas into one fabulous gift.

You will need:
box of crayons (24 count)
poem print out
cardstock (optional)

I started by cutting a circle out of cardstock and gluing it inside the lid of my jar.  If you don't use a mason jar, this step can be eliminated.

Next, I started hot gluing the crayons along the bottom edge of the jar.  To keep the crayons straight, keep your jar on the table and glue along resting the crayon bottom on the table.

Once done wrap ribbon around, I hot glued the ribbon on in a few spots to avoid it sliding down.

Tie in a bow in the front!

Next fill with M&M's, yummy!!

Type up the poem and print it out.  I glued mine to cardstock.  I then put the jar in a gift bag and tied the poem to the outside.

Pretty simple and quick to make!  I think the jar is super cute and would look great on any teacher's desk!  Happy Teacher Appreciation week!!
