Halloween Placemats

Here's a super simple and quick craft!  I made these for my daughter's 1st grade Halloween Party this year.

1- Draw a pumpkin and scarecrow with no face (email or leave a comment below and I can send you the ones I drew).

2- Take your pictures to your local copy store.  Copy onto orange paper, pumpkin on one side, scarecrow on the other.

3- Have the copy store laminate them for you.  I went to Office Max, they have individual sheets of laminating plastic that is a little thicker than the standard paper.  BUT, I think regular laminating plastic will work just as well.  They laminate the paper for you, but you can make the copies yourself.  It usually takes less than 30 minutes for them to do this, so I just waited around while they did it.

4- Purchase some sticky Velcro and dry-erase pens (the thin kind).  Cut the velcro into small pieces.  Stick one piece on the place mat and one piece on the pen.

That's it!  You have a nifty place mat that the kids can draw faces on, erase (with tissue) and draw again.

I made these Pilgrim and Indian ones last year for Thanksgiving as well!
